which Swinoujscie town is situated) and you will see Chopin there on
 a Wybrzeze (Pier) Wladyslawa IV.

 PRESENTATIONS
Teachers and students taking part in the cruise are supposed to give
a lecture/presentation on board during the cruise. You can choose
your own topic of presentation but please try to choose something
interesting for all of us.Try to make your presentation as exiting as
possible - remember that Chopin will be like a cradle and if you and
your presentation/lecture will be boring we will all fall
asleep....Presentations should be, of course, in English, and no
longer then 20 minutes. Also you should be ready for questions and
discussion afterwards. You can choose subjects connected to the sea,
Baltic region, environment, sustainability, waterŠ.etc. What concerns
information technologies...I would not bother so much about power
point presentations, overhead transparencies, etc since the only
technical devices you have on board Chopin are a black board and
white chalk - so back to basics! In case you need to show some
pictures, tables, etc, you have to bring some copies with you.

 QUESTIONS & REQUESTS
 - please to confirm your participation as soon as possible (NO LATER
   then August 20!!!!!!!!!!) by e-mail to: maria.winkler@balticuniv.uu.se
 - please let me know if you have sailed before and have some kind of
sailing certificate (we are looking for 3 watch leaders!)
 - students from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus are asked to send me the
   information about their travel costs
 - let me know the title of your presentation in advance - we need it
to plan the programme on board
 - sleep a lot a few days before the cruise, so you do not need so
   much sleep on Chopin!

 SCHEDULE
During the cruise we plan to visit following harbours/countries
(approximated dates of visit are given in braces):
 Swinoujscie/Poland (11 September)
 Ærøskøbing /Denmark (13 September)
 Kalmar/Sweden (17 September)
 Ventspils/Latvia (19 September)
 Hel/Poland (22 September) optional!
 Swinoujscie/Poland (25 September)

Lets hope that you will enjoy the cruise and will have a memory for life!

 Ahoy adventure!!!

 some explanations:
ahoy - greeting or warning cry used by seamen
adventure - an exiting or dangerous journey or activity

Have a nice summer, see you soon in Swinoujscie - Maria J :-)))))))))))))

Ærøskøbing, the idyllic town on the island of Ærø in the South Funen
Archipelago, is quite unique according to the Danish National Trust.
"The town plan in the old quarter has been unaffected by modern
development and has remained unchanged for over 200 years. Beautiful,
listed houses fronting onto small, cobbled streets create a
harmonious town landscape unparalleled in Northern Europe."
